I just fitted a new turbo actuator. Calibrated it with forscan and swore a lot trying to use forscan afterwards as it decided not to connect.

Yesterday night, I gave my vapouriser a blow job. I unplugged it. Let the diesel dribble out, then ran the engine blocking the exhaust to force fumes out of the vapouriser. I then put the plug in my mouth and blew. I was able to blow through it despite violating my mouth. At least I know its not blocked.

Bought some spotlights- they were rubbish. Took the internals out and fitted them to my rear lights

Stripped the rear discs/hubs off to change the discs and pads and found the bearings rusted in solid to the disc.
Removed the very crusty silencer and straight piped the exhaust, sounds sweet.

Spent another couple of hours trying to program up my new key fob.
After trying Forscan with no luck, I bought a OBD unit from a company called FobFix.
From the instructional video it should have been plug and play and about 5 minutes.
But...as is my luck, the OBD box couldn't communicate with the ECU according to the flash code on the box, from what the guy at FobFix explained.
But as Forscan and my other Scantool connect and communicate without a hitch, FobFix are sending me another programmer to test.
Also whilst digging about with Forscan, I went into the module programming section, discovered that the "wrong" tire size was in the system.
It said 15" wheels but the van has 16" factory alloys, so that got updated plus a few other bits that were not enabled but the van has.

I have the forscan and vlinker there with extended licence for a year. I haven't found it to be intuitive or useful compared to my old ids setup that continues to give faithful service. Well until 2013 anyway. Forscan will connect to newer fords for basics fault reading etc.

Forscan used to automatically insert incodes but they no longer support that. And I couldn't figure out how to do a software update either.

Ironically there's newbies that seem to have no prior experience in diagnostics and they can do everything with Forscan, whereas I'm reasonably handy but so far nada, it boggles me.
Perhaps I'm a clever thick f***r?

I've installed my "new" steering wheel today, leather instead of the cheap plastic one...
After i installed 180 degrees off the 1st time, 2nd time i noticed the buttons on the steering wheel were a bit different, so no volume ontrols and such...
So i've taken the airbag of 3 times in total, and swapped over the buttons, and all seems to be working.

Just when i wanted to activate the cruise control on the new steering wheel i found out my Surface laptops battery was dead :| So that'll be for another day.

Fitted new handbrake cables whilst the weather is favourable, parking on slopes was starting to be a lottery on whether the van would still be in the same spot when I returned.
I freed off the calipers and fitted new discs and pads when I bought the van 6 months ago, the cables looked ropey but made the effort.
I bought the new ones a while back but lacked the enthusiasm and weather to get them fitted since.
As it turned out, when I removed the old ones, someone had fitted 2 passenger side cables, so the drivers side one was short and was kinked to fit, hence the not very great holding power.
But all sorted, 2 clicks on the lever and the fat old girl stays put.
