Better not tell them about the black sludge in the inlet manifold then, they'll all run off and buy a cheap Maxus

Working for Ford you should know there was a broadcast message about this and then you can show them that :?

There are those who like to tinker with their vans and then blame Ford when things go wrong. I normally have a look (without tinkering) every so often just to check thats nothings leaking etc. Only 2 years 8 months of the guarantee left.

Thats the whole point of broadcast messages, TSB's etc, it gives us as techs information so we can use it to repair the vehicles or relay to the customers

Its quite simple to use, do a VIN enquiry and enter the symptoms, and it brings up any SSM's or TSB's

19431 - NEW TRANSIT - WHITE EMULSION
ON SOME 2.2L NEW TRANSITS, DURING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE OR A REPAIR, A WHITE EMULSION MAY BE NOTED ON THE INNER SURFACE OF THE OIL FILLER TUBE OR ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE OIL FILLER CAP, ESPECIALLY IN COLD CLIMATE CONDITIONS WITH HIGH NUMBER OF START/STOPS. IF THERE ARE NO SIGNS OF POSSIBLE HEAD GASKET FAILURE, PLEASE WIPE CLEAN AND CONTINUE WITH SERVICE.

Its the same at my place  went on a course for the mk7 Transit when it 1st came out and not been on 1 since, best bit is half the info they told us on the course either was wrong or not relevant

I would advise you to read the broadcast messages at least once a week, majority of them might not even be of any relevance to you (I lightly read over the car ones and concentrate on the commercial stuff  ) but its worth the few minutes it takes :) also with new model introductions and the e-learning, again its worth spending a bit of time doing it, might pick up summut useful from it

If you need any help on how to work etis, let me know cus I was lucky enough to have a good collegue (well not just a collegue, I consider him a mate) that knows etis inside out so he showed me around it :D

To Mike, ake and paul, not defending or making excuses for anything but this is the sort of sh*t we have to stick up with, I would put money on spanner-86's reception staff etc get put on all the complete bolloxs courses (how to deal with customers etc) but the companies arent interested in sending the blokes who have to try and fix the things on any kind of technical courses and end up having to guess half the time :!: as I said, im not defending etc, its the way it is unfortunately :( (thats my opinion on it and I aint gonna argue about it :) )
